National Day of Northern Ireland - St. Patrick's Day - St Patrick is patron saint of Ireland
1776 - Early in the American Revolutionary War the British completed their evacuation of Boston following a successful siege conducted by Patriots. The event is still commemorated in Boston as Evacuation Day.
